Success for North Tyne Living

North Tyneside Living has been awarded Best Older People's Development of over 100 homes at the 2017 Inside Housing Development Awards, a celebration of the very best residential development across the UK from the past year.

The project reached Financial Close in March 2014 and has since delivered 924 new build and refurbished homes for North Tyneside Council, with the judges highlighting the project's ambition in particular for commendation.

David Adams and Alina Chereches (pictured left and centre) represented EMS at the awards along with Phil Harris (pictured right) as Director of the SPV on behalf of Galliford Try Investments. James Taylor and Jim McClure have also been heavily involved in the project since financial close among a number of other members of the EMS team who can take great credit in its success.

 


QMA reaches Financial Close

EMS has been engaged to deliver construction management services in partnership with hub South West Scotland following the achievement of financial close for Queen Margaret Academy. 

The project covers the delivery of a new build 800 pupil roll secondary school.  The project will be delivered on a phased basis, with the new school block construction taking place on the existing site, followed by demolition and completion of landscaping in the area occupied by the current school once the decant to the new facilities complete.

EMS’ involvement will also extend to financial, operational and administration services during a 25 year concession.

 


Dalbeattie Learning Campus handed over

Working in collaboration with Hub South West, Equitix Management Services delivered the new Dalbeattie Learning Campus for Dumfries and Galloway Council on 27th October 2017.

The new campus will open its doors to around 800 pupils and 120 nursery children next week, providing a state of the art learning space to the local community.

EMS will remain involved in the project throughout the operational phase providing general and financial management.

 


Pittville student village opens

The new Pittville Campus in Cheltenham has opened its doors to students at the University of Gloucestershire following the completion of construction works in time for the start of the new academic year. 

The development, which began in February 2016, included the construction of 577 new student rooms and the refurbishment of 214 existing rooms as part of a transformation of an existing teaching and learning site into a new student village. 

EMS has been providing financial management to the project since financial close in partnership with Uliving. 

 


Ayr Academy

Hand over has taken place at the £25m Ayr Academy with the new secondary school for South Ayrshire Council ready to open for the start of the new school year. The Academy will accommodate 1,000 students,with capacity for a further 300, and will create a modern and inclusive facility where students can learn in a sustainable and well designed environment. 

Ayr Academy was the first project in Scotland to reach financial close post European System of Accounts (ESA 10) resolution in January 2016. Equitix Management Services has worked in partnership with hub South West Scotland to oversee the construction programme and will continue deliver a full management services role as the project enters the operational phase.

 


Cumbernauld achieves financial close

EMS has been engaged to deliver construction management services in partnership with hub South West Scotland following the achievement of financial close for Cumbernauld Academy and Cumbernauld Theatre. The project will involve the creation of a new Community Campus on behalf of North Lanarkshire Council, including an Academy accommodating 950 students and a new Theatre and Arts venue containing core performance and event spaces, public and front of house accommodation and administrative support spaces.

EMS’ involvement will also extend to financial and administration services during a 25 year concession.

 


Essex Meadows phase two

Construction is underway on a new University of Essex student accommodation development at the Meadows. The site will consist of 643 studios and en suite rooms and is due to complete in September 2018. 

EMS will provide operational, financial and administration services to the SPV in partnership with Bouygues Development as construction manager. The project represents the third student accommodation asset under management for EMS.

 


North Tyneside Living reaches completion

EMS has overseen completion of the construction phase of a social housing project in North Tyneside involving the construction of new build works and refurbishment to existing properties across 26 sites comprising 924 units in total. 

EMS has been responsible for the operational, construction and financial management of the 'Solutions 4 North Tyneside' consortium since financial close in March 2014 and will continue to deliver the management services role for the duration of the 28 year concession.

 


SPV Manager of the Year awards

We are delighted to announce that EMS has been included on the shortlist for the SPV Manager of the Year awards at the 2017 Partnership Awards. The Awards ceremony will take place on 11th May 2017.

 


Cowdown Solar project

EMS has today signed a Management Services Agreement with the SPV for the Cowdown Solar project. Cowdown is an operational 40MW solar farm near Andover in Berkshire. EMS now has five solar projects under management by EMS with an aggregate output capacity of 60MW. The total number of contracts under management now rises to 61.
